Idris Motiwala is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office, where he is a member of the firm’s Corporate Group. Idris’s practice covers a range of transactional and regulatory matters for both startups and mature companies, including government contractors, health care providers, and developers of emerging technology. Idris provides guidance on everyday corporate governance issues, commercial transactions, and private equity financing.
Idris has a unique blend of law firm and in-house experience. He served as associate general counsel for an emerging space transportation company, where he advised the company through unique challenges, including equity financing, government contracting, CFIUS, international trade, and commercial transactions. While at this space transportation company, Idris taught a course at the University of Texas School of Law titled “Space Law: The Business of Space Operations.” Idris’ corporate experience allows him to effectively guide clients through the various challenges they face.
